THE ASK
With the start of the college application season, the University of Oregon wants to launch a new social media campaign showcasing what life as a student is like on the UO campus. Highlight not only the academic side of student life, but the everyday activities and events students participate in.
THE STRATEGY
THE INSIGHT
All over social media, point-of-view (POV) and a day in my life videos have become extremely popular. Showcasing the daily routines of each content creator, the viewer is able to feel like they are a part of the creator’s day and have an insight to what their life is like.
Starting on YouTube, this trend has since blown up and can now be seen on Instagram as well as TikTok.
HOW THIS RELATES BACK TO THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
Day in the life videos of college students are extremely popular. For high school students, they serve as a way to educate themselves on what typical school days will look like while living on-campus.
Without even leaving their home, prospective students are able to get a sense of what their future could look like attending a specific university.
THE CAMPAIGN
Using the model of success from the POV and day in the life videos, create a University of Oregon specific video series showcasing daily life as a UO student.
Housed on the University of Oregon’s Instagram page (@uoregon) and YouTube channel (@uoregon), these videos are meant to showcase the wide range of student majors, involvements, and activities on-campus and around Eugene to prospective students.
On the @uoregon Instagram story, highlights from these videos would be posted that would then prompt viewers to navigate to the YouTube page for the extended video.
